ABIES X BALSAM Dark green needles with two white lines on the undersides. A fast growing plant that will grow in full sun or shade on cool, moist, soils. Specimens can grow in wet areas. Excellent Christmas or landscape tree. Foliage is very fragrant. One of our very favorite evergreens, Don and Janeen would push mow around spruce and fir trees. The Balsam fir was most forgiving and even soft on the arms compared to getting scratched up by the spruce.
